1300 Stimulus Payment Schedule: Find Out When You’ll Receive Your Direct Tax Rebate

Minnesota Department of Revenue has reissued 128,000 expired tax rebate checks, valid for two years, using the latest recipients' addresses.

1300 Stimulus Payment Schedule: The Minnesota Department of Revenue has reissued 128,000 one-time tax rebate checks that had expired and remained uncashed. The most recent addresses on file for recipients were used to send these new checks, which will remain legitimate for a period of two years.

Initially, a law passed in May 2023 authorized the issuance of nearly 2.1 million Direct Tax Rebate payments, which amounted to nearly $1 billion. The eligibility and quantities were determined by the 2021 income tax or property tax refund returns that had been previously submitted.

Who is eligible for the rebate?

Individuals were required to reside in Minnesota for a portion or the entirety of 2021 in order to qualify for the rebate. By December 31, 2022, they were obligated to submit either the 2021 Form M1, Minnesota Individual Income Tax, or the 2021 Form M1PR, Homestead Credit Refund (for Homeowners) and Renter’s Property Tax Refund.

They also had to have a 2021 adjusted gross income of $150,000 or less for married joint filers and $75,000 for others. They must not be claimed as dependents on another person’s 2021 Minnesota income tax return.

The rebate is not accessible to taxpayers who died before January 1, 2023. If an eligible couple filed jointly for 2021 and one spouse died before January 1, 2023, the surviving spouse receives the full rebate.

Understanding the Benefits of the VA GI Bill

When will you receive this Direct Tax Rebate payment?

All initial payments have been disbursed. In the event that direct deposits were unsuccessful, checks were mailed through September, and direct deposits were prioritized. Late last year, certain checks that had expired were reissued.

The reissued paper checks were sent by Submittable Holdings Inc., a company located in Missoula, Montana, and were delivered in standard white envelopes. These checks are effective for a period of 60 days from the date of issuance. The Minnesota Department of Commerce’s Unclaimed Property Division may receive the payments if they remain uncashed.

The Minnesota Department of Revenue urges taxpayers who have not yet received their check to review the eligibility criteria. Eligible individuals who did not receive a check may reach out to the department for assistance by emailing mntaxrebate@submittable.com or calling (651) 565-6595.
