California City Implements $500 Monthly Stimulus Payment: A new pilot program will soon allow a limited number of Pomona residents to apply for $500 per month over the course of 18 months.

On Monday, Pomona residents can apply for state financial aid under the new Pomona Household Universal Grants Program. The 600 lottery winners will be divided into two categories.

A maximal total of $9,000 will be earned by a group of 250 applicants, who will receive $500 per month for 18 months. The remaining 350 applicants will receive $20 per month for a period of 18 months.

The deadline for applications is July 9 at 01:00 ET and July 8 at 23:00 PT. The application period commenced on June 17 and will conclude accordingly. Residents of Pomona will have the ability to submit their applications and supporting documentation via the FORWARD web portal.

The 600 applicants will be selected on July 10, 2024, and their applications will be reviewed between July 10 and August 1. Applicants will have the opportunity to revise their documentation if required during this period.

In order to be eligible for the stimulus payment, applicants must meet specific criteria. This encompasses:

At the time of application, applicants must be 18 years of age or older and reside in Pomona.

  • At the time of application, be the parent or legal guardian of a child under the age of four.
  • Belong to at least one of the following categories: have a household income at or below 65 percent of the Area Median Income; are currently receiving benefits such as Federal Pell Grants, Medicaid or MediCal, or the Children’s Health Insurance Program; have a home address located in a Qualified Census Tract; experienced adverse effects due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Accept the terms of an informed consent form.
